Description

From a contemporaneous review

“For the most part, as usual with an organization that is not entirely blessed with untold wealth, the repertory consists
largely of chamber music, and concerts are held in the smaller halls.

“A look through the festival program shows the orientation of the music. The various composers still think alike and are still writing pieces named ‘Projection’ or ‘Tetragon’ or ‘Confluence’ or ‘Epitase.’ … There is no romanticism at one of these concerts.”

New York Times, June 5, 1971, p. 21.
