  • Please describe your organization’s activities over the past year, including concerts, commissions, collaborations, publications: 

    The ISCM Lithuanian Section has been involved in many activities. Over the past few years we have been collaborating with the EECMS (European-Egyptian Contemporary Music Society) to present contemporary composers music of two countries which took place in Vilnius in December. The project included concerts with many premiers as an outcome of the Forum Heritage and Modernity (Kairo 2016), conference and masterclass on traditional Arabic music at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, as a partner, was also a part of the celebrations of the 80th Anniversary of the ISCM Lithuanian Section Membership in the International Society. Prof. dr. Rūta Stanevičiūtė-Kelmickienė presented a lecture "Lithuanian-Egyptian Connections and Historical Perspectives". In collaboration with the Sibelius Academy of Music and MicroEnsemble (Finland) we have started a new microtonal project with the MicroEnsemble concert in Helsinki, on the program international composers music written for solo and ensemble of microtonal instruments using electronics and special for this occasion constructed new microtonal piano. These two projects will continue to this year events in Vilnius and Cairo. Collaborating with the festivals such as “Muzikos ruduo” (Music Autumn), Lithuanian Philharmonic Society were presented several concerts of contemporary composer’s music in Vilnius, and the regions of Lithuania;
