Štuhec, Igor: Scherzo

Notes

  • Program notes:

On composing Scherzo for solo flute, my idea was that the composition would contain a stylistic diversity that would interweave one musical characteristic with secondary sonic material. In terms of expression, the work would convey the important tonal features of the period, which would appear one after another and complement each other. The classical formal system would fuse with the structural concept, while the structure, with its sonic features, would arrive at and renew the tradition of the era. Thus determination would be satisfied in the transformation to and from non-determination. Scherzo was composed in 2014.
