    Nostalgia II (2016)

Just like Nostalgia I for chamber ensemble (2015), also this second part of the „nostalgic“ trilogy maintains the principle of Matryoshka doll, serving as a potential for another Matryoshka doll – however, just like from Jaroslav Hašek's novel The Good Soldier Švejk: “Inside the globe there was another globe much bigger than the outer one”. With its instrumentation and duration but also general time conception and form it therefore exceeds and expands the first part, while its conclusion prepares the ground for the final, orchestral part. The trilogy will be performable as a contiunous whole. The initial impulse to its creation, the music material as well as the compositional principles emerged from Svetlana Boym's essay The Future of Nostalgia: "Restorative nostalgia stresses nóstos ('home' in Greek) and attempts a transhistorical reconstruction of the lost home. Reflective nostalgia thrives in álgos ('longing' in Greek), the longing itself, and delays the homecoming—wistfully, ironically, desperately."
