  • Program notes:

This piece is based on Twill Weave textile pattern, which is often used in weaving manufacturing in a daily life.

For me as a composer, it was important to use this particular Twill Weave textile pattern in such a way that its structure and various parameters would be transformed into a ritualized performance. Moreover, this work explores micro-macro form, various gestures, rhythmical patterns / repetitions, and different instrumental timbres.

The most important aspect is that the Twill Weave textile patterns are transformed into overlapping rhythmical canons, which reflect the weaving process of the Twill Weave textile pattern. During the piece performers reproduce not only the identical or overlapping movements, but also each time appearing new different timbres extend the perception of the weaving process and create various sonority motions.
