  • Program notes: 

    Mt inspiration was the electronic sounds produced by land and underground electromagnetic
    fields. They are everywhere, even where people aren’t aware of them: illumination systems,
    transformers, surveillance cameras, high-voltage power lines, mobile telecommunication,
    computers, wi-fi, trams, antennas, illuminated signs, mobile navigation systems, etc. Together
    these create a whole range of fields that, while invisible, are absolutely real current, each with
    their own unique sound that can only be heard through earphones sensitive to radio-magnetic
    waves. In my quartet I reconstructed some of these sound, using electric fans in place of bows.
