Programme notes of the submitted work
Réflexions iraniens was composed in Tallinn. I discovered there an old book of iranian folksongs and it was
for me a big surprise to realize how this music respired at the same rhythm of the estonian city. I lived in
Tallinn during the winter and in that period the estonian life seemed to me extremely slow: people walked
slowly in the streets and all seemed soundproofed by the snow. In this nordic and cold landscape I imagine
to listen to an iranian chant that little by little becomes louder.
