International Review of Composers Call for Scores Announced
The Composers’ Association of Serbia has announced a call for scores for the 32nd International Review of Composers which will take place in Belgrade from 5–10 October 2023. The Call is not anonymous. The application is free of charge. The same composer can submit pieces in various categories, but it is not possible to submit more than two pieces.
Pieces for the following ensembles are eligible within this call:
1. symphony orchestra (a3)
Duration: up to 12 minutes
2. female choir or mixed vocal octet (two sopranos, two mezzo-sopranos, two tenors,
baritone, bass/baritone)
Duration: up to 10 minutes
3. variable chamber ensemble, ranging from 1 to 9 instruments, with or without electronics
Duration: up to 10 minutes
Possible instruments: recorder, flute/alto flute, oboe, clarinet/bass clarinet, bassoon,
French horn, trumpet, trombone, guitar, harp, piano, harpsichord, accordion, percussion,
soprano, mezzo-soprano, baritone, two violins, viola, cello, double bass.
4. flute and hammered dulcimer (Hackbrett)
Duration: up to 10 minutes
5. woodwind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn)
Duration: up to 10 minutes.
According to the Statutes of the International Review of Composers, only pieces composed within the last three calendar years are eligible. The right to submit applications is entitled to composers, performers, societies, and national associations of authors.
Each submission must contain the following elements:
1. score
2. recording (if available)
3. short biography of the composer (up to 150 words)
4. program note about the piece (up to 150 words).
The composers whose pieces are selected for performance must provide the complete performance material which comprises of the following elements:
1) parts
2) electronic part (for electronic/electroacoustic compositions)
3) composer’s recent photo
4) short biography of the composer (up to 150 words)
5) program note about the piece (up to 150 words).

The deadline for applications is 30 November 2022 (CET).
For submissions by post, the date on the postal stamp is valid.
If the material is submitted online, the last day for applying is 30 November 2022, but it is necessary that the submitted documents should be available for download until the end of February 2023 (the material should be uploaded to Soundcloud, YouTube, Dropbox, etc. – please do not send it via WeTransfer).
It is recommended that the applications are sent by email.
