Types of Membership

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

I. SECTIONS

A Member Section of the ISCM is an independent organization representing the vision, purpose, mission, and values of the Society, effectively coordinating the endeavours toward furthering contemporary music in a geographical or cultural region of a country, or in a country at large. Membership rights:

1) Participation and voting rights in the ISCM General Assembly
2) Accommodation for the 1st delegate during ISCM General Assembly
3) Six pieces can be submitted free of charge by the member to the Selection Committee of the ISCM World (New) Music Days from which at least one is guaranteed a performance in accordance with the Rules of Procedure for the Organization of the ISCM W(N)MD.
4) Access to the ISCM Network
5) Participation in ISCM Events
6) Entitlement to apply to the ISCM Members Support Fund
7) Entitlement to apply for hosting the ISCM W(N)MD

II. FULL ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

A Full Associate Member of the ISCM represents contemporary music life in a geographical or cultural region of a country or in a country which cannot sustain a Section or where there is already a Section. Membership rights:

1) Participation in the ISCM General Assembly
2) Accommodation for the 1st delegate during ISCM General Assembly
3) Six pieces can be submitted free of charge by the member to the Selection Committee of the ISCM World (New) Music Days from which at least one is guaranteed a performance in accordance with the Rules of Procedure for the Organization of the ISCM W(N)MD.
4) Access to the ISCM Network
5) Participation in ISCM Events
6) Entitlement to apply to the ISCM Members Support Fund
7) Entitlement to apply for hosting the ISCM W(N)MD

III. AFFILIATED ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

An Affiliated Membership is for smaller organizations that represent composers or promote contemporary music in a local context (e.g. local area or city). They may either be smaller organizations or have a more limited scope of activities. Membership rights:

1) Participation in the ISCM General Assembly
2) Up to three pieces can be submitted free of change by the member to the Selection Committee of the ISCM W(N)MD
3) Access to the ISCM Network
4) Participation in ISCM Events

IV. ALLIED ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

An Allied Membership is for individual ensembles, new music presenters, broadcasters, university schools of music, conservatories, composer collectives, etc. These are organizations that want access to the ISCM Network and involvement in ISCM Events. Membership rights:

1) Participation in ISCM General Assembly
2) Access to ISCM Network
3) Participation in ISCM Events

V. ASSOCIATED BUSINESS MEMBERS

For companies and corporations that want to support the activities of the ISCM on an annual basis. Business members are listed on the website and provided with basic exposure in some ISCM publications. Membership rights:

1) Participation in the ISCM General Assembly
2) Access to the ISCM Network
3) Participation in ISCM Events
4) Visibility in ISCM publications and on the website

VI. HONORARY MEMBERS

Honorary Members are individuals whose particular distinctions in furthering contemporary music have been acknowledged by an election in the general assembly.
