Belgian Music Days 2020

  • Date:
    Wednesday, March 4, 2020 to Saturday, March 7, 2020
  • Description:

    Belgian Music Days 2020
    100% BELGIAN MUSIC / 100% WRITTEN AFTER 1830
    FESTIVAL 4, 5, 6 & 7 MARCH 2020

Belgian Music Days 2020 is the second edition of a biannual festival focused on promoting and enhancing Belgian classical music, jazz and cross-over repertoire from 1830 to today.
In almost 30 concerts in four days the diversity and quality of Belgian classical music is explored with special attention for music of living composers.

In 2018 the Belgian Music Days were created by a group of musical partners from all 3 cultural communities of Belgium (Le Forum des Compositeurs (ISCM - Wallonian Section), ISCM - Flemish Section, Componisten Archipel Vlaanderen (ComAV), the Belgian Composers Union (UCB-UBC), Klang Haus, PointCulture and Flanders Arts Institute), with the goal to bring these communities closer together around a common musical repertoire.

Belgian Music Days 2020 is organized from 4 to 7 March 2020, in the city of Mons. The program consists of four days full of concerts with a remarkably diverse program in both repertoire and performers:
    - from distinguished composers as César Franck, Karel Goeyvaerts or Claude Ledoux to relatively unknown composers such as Ann Eysermans, Pierre Slinckx or Anne Martin.
    - from solo musicians over vocal ensembles to full orchestra’s.
    - from over acoustic instruments to electronic music.
    - from young music students to professional ensembles

A fringe program with a roundtable, a conference, a sound installation and two expositions completes the schedule.
