Anna Arkushyna: Images of Dust

Anna Arkushyna was born 1989 in Lutsk (Ukraine). In 2017 she completed her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (in the composition class of Prof. Beat Furrer). From 2015 to 2019, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Music, in the class of Prof. Marko Ciciliani and Prof. Daniel Mayer. Since 2020, she has studied composition with Prof. Franck Bedrossian at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Anna was a finalist of the composition competition “Step to the Left-4” (St.-Petersburg, 2011), third-prize-winner of the “Pre-Art Composer’s Competition” in Switzerland (2017). She was also finalist of the “Ö1-Talentebörse Kompositionspreis 2020” in Austria. Her music is widely performed during many festivals and projects in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Germany, Holland, Austria, Croatia, Chile, Mexico, Lithuania, Japan, Slovakia, and Switzerland. Performers of her music include Ensemble Nostri Temporis, Ensemble JungeMusikBerlin, Amsterdam Collage Ensemble, ensemble musikFabrik, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, ensemble Spectrum, Kwartludium Ensemble, Pre-Art ensemble, ensemble Airborn Extended, MozArt Sinfonietta Salzburg and many others.

Images of Dust is a 2012 composition for oboe, trumpet, horn, MIDI-guitar, prepared tape. It is presented here in a performance by the Ensemble Nostri Temporis recorded on 23 June 2012 in Kiev.
