Edwin van der Heide to be city Bonn sound artist

The Beethovenstiftung für Kunst und Kultur der Bundesstadt Bonn (Beethoven Foundation for Art and Culture of the Federal City of Bonn) has announced the appointment of Dutch artist Edwin van der Heide to be city sound artist bonn 2015. In the framework of the project bonn hoeren, the only one of its kind world-wide, the Beethovenstiftung Bonn has awarded an artistic project residency to a renowned sound artist for the sixth year running. Edwin van der Heide is among the most prominent and successful sound artists active on the international scene today. Born in 1970 in Hilversum (NL), he currently lives and works in Rotterdam and holds professorships in both The Hague and Leiden. In 2015, bonn hoeren plans to collaborate with the Kulturforum of the University of Bonn. The artistic work of the city sound artist is to center on the linking of the university as a place of culture and the city of Bonn.
