Forecast’s 2024 Call for Proposals is Now Open

Proposals from Forecast’s 2018 open call

Forecast, an interdisciplinary mentorship program based in Berlin, has opened its annual call for proposals. The program offers creative thinkers from various disciplines the chance to work with accomplished mentors toward bringing their projects to fruition.

One of the experts in this edition is composer and performer Ute Wassermann. Wassermann is a German voice artist, composer, performer, and improvisor. At the core of Wassermann’s research is an ongoing and uncompromising exploration of her voice. Her singing style transcends the traditional usage of the human voice, resulting in multidimensional sculptural sounds that oscillate between electronic, animalistic, inorganic, and human qualities. Wassermann takes this to the extreme by creating a visceral sound-space through the use of different types of microphones.

In addition to Wassermann, mentors in this edition include choreographer Alice Ripoll (BR), designer Fiona Raby (UK), photographer Lieko Shiga (JN), artist Theo Eshetu (UK), and documentary filmmaker Tomer Heymann (IL).

Forecast encourages artistic practitioners and cultural producers working in all creative fields anywhere in the world to apply with projects that could benefit from the expertise of one of this edition’s mentors and their unique approach to material and knowledge production. Successful applicants receive a grant and production budget in addition to the mentorship. The deadline for applications is 11:59pm CET on Monday, 26 February 2024. To submit an application, please visit the open call form.
